JOB DESCRIPTION:

• Knowledge and proficiency reading and preparing electrical deliverables (single line diagrams, electrical layouts, schematics and wiring diagrams, electrical heat tracing isometrics, panel schedules, cable schedules) for new and upgraded installations
• Preparing, verifying and implementing electrical design calculations such as voltage drop, cable sizing, cable tray loading, conduit fill, electrical heat tracing
• Must be comfortable working in a 3D environment and reviewing models
• Excellence in interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to operate independently as well as in a team environment

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Technical school diploma
• 6+ years of related design experience within an EPC, mining or a large-scale petro-chemical facilities
• E.T. in Electrical Engineering Technology
• Experience using AutoCAD, Microstation, Autoplant and other 3D modeling software is an asset
• Knowledge and proficiency with the Canadian Electrical Code and proficiency in using its rules and tables is a must
• Motivated, self-starter with ability to work under minimal supervision

DURATION OF ASSIGNMENT:
3 months’ probation period and then full time depending on the performance

JOB DESCRIPTION:

• Produce single line, three line, protection and control drawings and HV and MV equipment layouts
• Work with designers, engineers and drafters to provide electrical design deliverables for heavy industrial, power generation, MV and HV substation design projects
• Perform technical calculations and feasibility studies
• Prepare electrical equipment or construction specifications
• Interact with vendors, clients and Owner’s engineers
• Grounding, short circuit, load flow, relay setting and coordination studies using ETAP and SKM

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Eng. or eligible to apply for P.Eng in AB
• Familiar with of project budget, schedule and deliverable requirements and act accordingly during the design and be able to work as project team lead in the future
• Work efficiently with minimum supervision and effective organizational skills
• Work in both P&C and Electrical discipline
• Utility and Power Generation experience
• Experienced with the knowledge of 3D Software of substations an asset
• Experienced with the knowledge of protection and control design an asset

The owner’s Engineer role is not only important and vital in the execution of any kind and size of the project. Responsibilities of an Owner’s Engineer can be supplied:

• Project technical and commercial assessment, possibility studies, and the development of alternative and value-added solutions.
• Developing a detailed scope definition, including size, location, schedule, labor, and technological, environmental and regulatory requirements.
• Scope reviews regarding business objectives. Assessing/ proposing capital budget, demand, and lenders offering financial scheduling and finishing cost/benefit analyses using project management evaluation tools.

• Carefully and realistically developing schedules and design criteria.
